I saw these cattle grazing by the dyke on Burnham Overy Marsh. It was midday in July and the heat was oppressive. The cattle were resting and drinking, whilst distant trees shimmered. The midday sky is painted using three tints, cadmium yellow, vermilion and cobalt blue, each individually dried before adding the next.
